Assignment: |

building addition at the Haystack Observatory, consisting of 18 offices
and a conference room to house the Atmospheric Sciences Group. |

Challenges: |
Provide
dedicated MEP systems for state-of-the art facility within cost
constraints that provided maximum occupant comfort and indoor air
quality while emphasizing energy conservation. |

Implementation: |
Designed new
HVAC system utilizing rooftop air handling units employing desiccant
energy recovery technology in the exhaust air stream that recovered heat
and humidity during winter periods and rejected sensible and humidity
during the summer months with resultant payback of less than 2 years.
Provided all new electrical distribution including transient voltage
surge suppression power distribution for computer systems with new
network systems. Upgraded/expanded building speaker system, fire alarm,
sprinklers and lavatory facilities to ADA compliant standards. |
